Pamlico Deli specializes in big, made-to-order, New York-style deli sandwiches and pre-prepared, authentic Italian takeout meals, all made with high-quality ingredients. A variety of sandwich options are on the menu, from a classic Reuben to the innovative Southern to a couple of vegetarian options. Charcuterie boards are available as well. Standouts at Pamlico Deli are the house-made marinara sauce, pasta dishes, cold salads, desserts and even fresh mozzarella, which is made daily. They roast all their own meats, including the corned beef, and the addition of a smoker means they will soon be serving house-made pastrami! If you're feeding a family or a crowd, their Pans To Go menu offers several kinds of lasagna, manicotti, meatballs, baked pasta and other options for carryout. Also ask about party trays of subs and sides for any size event. In summer they have a Delivery to the Docks program for the Hatteras charter fishing boats. Pamlico Deli serves wine and beer, including local craft beer, and is a gathering place with live music every Monday from Memorial Day to Labor Day and wine tastings on Thursdays throughout the year. Owner and chef Rusty Midgett, a native who left the island and honed his restaurant and kitchen experience in some of Philadelphia’s top restaurants, is inspired in the kitchen by the places he has traveled on surf trips – the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, the Pacific Rim.
