Froggy Dog has been in Avon so long that it's become something of an icon, and new owners in 2019 have breathed new life into this seafood-oriented restaurant. They've kept the name and the classic pub-like, wood-paneled interior, but they've also made changes, like new ship-themed decor and weekly pirate nights. They've also expanded the pub offerings, with trivia on Mondays, music bingo on Tuesdays, pirate karaoke on Wednesdays, traditional karaoke on Thursdays, 13 TVs and a sports package and a late-night menu served until last call. The full bar has expanded wine and beer selections, with a large focus on craft brews and North Carolina beers. The lunch and dinner menus have been updated as well. Diners will find lots of seafood, burgers, sandwiches, steaks and pasta dishes, gluten-free items and vegetarian options. The new owners are focused on making many of the menu items from scratch. A kids’ menu is available. The gift shop sells t-shirts and a lot of other Froggy Dog paraphernalia. Private dining areas are available for wine dinners, events and celebrations.
