Hanging out on the beach is wonderful, relaxing and rejuvenating, but that’s not the only thing the beach is good for. Welcome to Hatteras Island activities, where your inner athlete, adventurer and scholar can be satisfied. Hatteras activities will introduce you to sporty, fun and exciting things to do. Have you ever wanted to try surfing, hang gliding, parasailing, paddleboarding, charter fishing, water skiing or any other water sport? If so, it’s good you decided to spend your vacation on Hatteras Island. With seven companies to help get your adrenaline pumping and your feet in the water, you’ll be well-versed by the end of the day in the basics of any aquatic activity you choose. Watersport lessons and groups are offered at any level, so whether you’re a novice surfer or seasoned in parasailing, there’s a Hatteras activity here for you.
If watersports don’t hold your interest, fret not. Hatteras activities also include nature hikes, yoga sessions, sunset tours and arts and crafts. And just because it’s the summer doesn’t mean you can’t learn something new. Check out ecology lectures or sessions on the lives of sea turtles that will stir your passion for nature and broaden your mind.
Many Hatteras activities are open to all people of all ages (if it’s a watersport, check with the instructors to figure out which level would be most appropriate). Some activities, like hang gliding, are more appropriate for teens and older. It’s a good idea to check with the activity companies to learn which activities are and aren’t family friendly. So get out there, learn something and add a few more memories to this Outer Banks vacation.
