The legendary Red Drum, serving Hatteras Island since 1954, offers all the bait, tackle, custom rods, supplies, camping supplies, gear, ice and advice you’ll need plus rod building and repair. If you're already familiar with the store, you might be surprised to learn that it moved in 2019, after decades in the same location. It's now in the old Point Restaurant building, making it a convenient stop on the way to The Point. But don't worry: Red Drum is still owned and run by the trusty Eakes family. Stop by for a free tide table, to pick up a souvenir t-shirt or to get advice from the owners and staff members, all of whom are anglers.
