The Harrison family has been in the commercial fishing business in Hatteras since 1989. In order to ensure a future in fishing for their children, they started a retail market next to their home in Hatteras village. They sell fresh clams, shrimp, soft-shell crabs, scallops, crab, triggerfish, yellow-fin tuna, cobia, mahi mahi, wahoo and more, depending on the season, of course. They also serve ready-made items for take out, including crab cakes, shrimp and crab meat enchiladas, seafood chimichangas, bacon-wrapped scallops and other grill-ready items, salads, seasonings and condiments. For specially prepared items they encourage calling ahead. Harbor House is open seven days a week in summer and is across from Hatteras Harbor Marina.
