The Blue Whale has been in business on Hatteras Island for more than 48 years. They sell just about all the convenience items you’ll need plus other fun stuff including groceries and specialty items, t-shirts and souvenirs, bait and tackle, more than 200 hot sauces, barbecue sauces and marinades, gourmet coffee beans, in excess of 70 brands of imported and domestic beer (including build your own six pack), a nice variety of wine, beach supplies, ice, firewood and Blazin’ Buddies for your beach campfire, books and magazines. They also have a propane exchange, offer free air for your tires and have an ATM. The Blue Whale has Shell gas and diesel fuel, and they can also give you lots of information on the Tri-Villages.
