The Elegant Attic is an antiques shop housed in an old Buxton cottage that the owner saved from demolition. The shop’s main feature is a spectacular selection of antique stained-glass windows and doors imported from England. You’ll find other antiques as well, including English and domestic furniture, and there’s also a large selection of jewelry, linens, fine glassware, scarves, clothing, candles and gifts. The prices are very reasonable. The shop, which is south of the Buxton post office, goes on and on, and you could easily spend a couple of hours browsing around in here. The owner also has vignettes set up in her house (the great room and dining room are now part of the shop) and welcomes folks into her home to see how she uses the windows as decor.
